Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are fats naturally found in coconut and palm kernels. MCTs are more easily and quickly absorbed in the intestines than other oils. MCTs are an important source of ATP production in the body and can easily be converted into ketone form and used as caloric fuel. Therefore, they can be an alternative supplement for those on a low-carb diet.
Hardline MCT oil contains 60% caprylic acid and 40% capric acid. These two forms of MCT are more easily converted into caloric energy than the other saturated fats found in coconut oil.
